A Cumbrian man has been charged with child sex offences, abduction and dangerous driving.

The 20-year-old was arrested after a police pursuit following reports that two girls, aged 12 and 15, had failed to return to their homes in Millom.

A vehicle with the girls inside was spotted in the early hours of Thursday and eventually stopped in Kendal.

The man, from Broughton-in-Furness, is due to appear before magistrates in Barrow later.

He faces two child sex offence charges, two counts of child abduction, and one charge of dangerous driving.
