Rock climber badly injured in 250ft fall off Raven Crag

A climber was badly injured after falling nearly 250ft (75m) off a crag in the Lake District.

Rescuers said the man had fallen off the top of Raven Crag at Walthwaite near Chapel Stile, Ambleside.

The Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue team, paramedics, air ambulance and RAF all helped rescue the man on Friday.

He suffered serious multiple injuries. His climbing partner suffered minor injuries including rope burns trying to help his injured companion.
