A teenager has been charged with the theft of a double-decker bus in Cumbria.

The bus was taken from Barrow shortly before 0400 BST on Saturday and spotted by a police patrol on the A590.

A pursuit at speeds of up to 50mph followed before the bus eventually crashed near Kendal.

The 18-year-old driver, from Barrow, suffered "serious" injuries and was later charged with aggravated vehicle taking and criminal damage.
