Seven arrests after Cumbria bike theft spate
Seven people have been arrested in connection with what police describe as a spate of thefts of motorcycles, trial bikes and quad bikes in north Cumbria.
Three men were held after members of the public reported seeing trail bikes being ridden erratically by riders without helmets in Dalston on Thursday.
All were from Carlisle, and in their 20s. They were later released on bail.
Four men, also from Carlisle and aged between 16 and 20, were arrested on Friday on suspicion of burglary.
A Cumbria Police spokesmen said officers were continuing to investigate a series of thefts in Carlisle and rural North Cumbria and urged owners of such vehicles to increase their security measures.
