Bogus officers steal no-waiting cones in Barrow

A large number of police "no waiting" cones have been stolen from a secure compound in Cumbria.

It is believed that two men, posing as officers, carried out the theft from the site in Salthouse Road, Barrow.

About 200 of the cones, which are used for events such as festivals and carnivals, were taken.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said it was not clear when the theft occurred, as the cones were rarely used outside summer months.

Anyone spotting abandoned "no waiting" cones is asked to contact the force.
