Man injured in Carlisle street gang attack

Police in Cumbria are hunting a gang of youths who carried out an "unprovoked attack" on a man.

Cumbria Police said the 44-year-old was set upon in Rosevale, Carlisle on Saturday night as he was walking home.

A force spokesman said about a dozen youths were involved. He said the man's injuries were not life-threatening.

A 16-year-old local youth was later arrested and bailed on suspicion of affray. The spokesman appealed for witnesses to help find others involved.
