Silloth emergency exercise simulates plane crash

Emergency services from across Cumbria are taking part in an exercise involving a simulated plane crash.

More than 120 people, including firefighters, police officers, ambulance staff and lifeboat crews are involved in the exercise at Silloth.

The exercise, which is due to last for several hours, assumes that an aircraft has come down in the West Beach area of Silloth.

Dozens of volunteers were recruited to take on the role of casualties.
