Two cows killed in lorry crash in Cumbria

Two cows have been killed in a crash with a lorry on a main road in Cumbria.

Emergency services were called to the A6 at Plumpton, near Penrith, shortly before 21:00 BST on Friday.

The accident involved three animals and two of them died at the scene. The lorry driver was unhurt. The road was blocked while the animals were removed.

Cumbria Police said they were investigating how the animals got on to the road.
