Cumbria primary school Captain Shaw's in closure threat

A village primary school in Cumbria is facing closure due to falling pupil numbers.

Captain Shaw's is a Church of England school near Millom with capacity for 56 four to 11-year-olds.

There are 16 children on the register, and the council has suggested transferring pupils to a school in the neighbouring village of Waberthwaite.

School governors say they will fight for the school and are suggesting sharing resources rather than closure.
