The 40-year-old man from Ulverston was assaulted by two men in the Kingsway area of the town on Monday at around 19:00 GMT.

He is being treated for injuries to his face and hands, believed to be caused by a Bowie-type hunting knife.

Two men have been charged with suspicion of wounding with intent, aggravated burglary and possession of a knife in public.
