Metal gates taken from fields in Cumbria

Landowners have been warned to ensure their gates are properly secured after 14 metals ones were stolen during one night in Cumbria.

They were removed from fields in the Easton area, near Longhtown, overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday.

It is believed they were taken for their scrap metal value and police are speaking to local dealers.

Anyone with information, or who has been offered gates for sale, is asked to contact Cumbria Police.
