Car driver dies in tractor crash on Carlisle outskirts

A driver has died in a collision with a tractor on the outskirts of Carlisle.

Cumbria Police said the car was being driven on the B5307 near the village of Moorhouse when it crossed onto the opposite side of the road on a bend.

It collided head-on with a tractor travelling the other way. The male car driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The tractor driver was not hurt.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the accident, which happened at 14:10 GMT on Saturday, to contact them.
