Man, 32, jailed for £400,000 heroin find

A man has been jailed for four years after police found £400,000 worth of heroin in his car.

Officers arrested John Cockburn, 32, on the M6 near Burton-in-Kendal in October, after his car was stopped during a routine operation.

Cockburn, of Baillieston, Glasgow, pleaded guilty to possessing 5kg of the class A drug with intent to supply, at Carlisle Crown Court..

In court Cockburn said he had "no idea" of the value of the drugs involved.
