Man held after grandmother attacked in Cleator Moor

A man has been arrested after a woman was attacked as she put her baby granddaughter into her car.

Cumbria Police said the 58-year-old had been knocked to the ground in Keir Hardie Avenue, Cleator Moor, Cumbria, late on Saturday and was badly bruised.

A force spokeswoman said the 26-year-old man, from Cleator Moor, had been arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm.

The spokeswoman said the 14-month-old child was unhurt in the incident.
