Carer Lourdes Wilson jailed for stealing from residents

A carer who stole from three elderly residents at a South Lakeland care home has been jailed for three years.

Lourdes Wilson, 41, stole £6,300 from an 87-year-old man's account after taking his bank card, as well as jewellery from women residents.

Appearing at Carlisle Crown Court, Wilson admitted four counts of theft from St Gregory's Care in Carnforth.

Judge Paul Batty QC told Wilson, of Duke Street, Prescott, Liverpool, that she had caused "untold misery".

The hearing was told that one of Wilson's victims was a 90-year-old woman suffering from dementia.

The court also heard how she stole the 87-year-old man's card and Pin number while he was shaving.
