Kendal road resurfacing disruption warnings

Drivers are being warned to expect weeks of disruption as resurfacing work on a main route into a Cumbrian town starts.

The work around the A591 Plumgarths Roundabout and Kendal bypass starts on Monday and is due to last nine weeks.

Roundabout resurfacing works will be suspended over the Easter holiday period, when the town will be busy with tourists.

A dedicated bus service for residents will run along Windermere Road.

The work will be done in six phases and some will be carried out at night with the aim of minimising disruption.

Some diversions will be set up.
