Four teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of arson after a bowling pavilion in Cumbria was destroyed in a fire.

Cumbria Police were alerted to the blaze at Castle Park Bowling Club in Penrith, at about 19:40 GMT on Sunday.

It is estimated to have caused damage put at thousands of pounds.

A boy and girl, both 13, are on bail. Two other males, aged 14 and 15, from Penrith, were arrested on suspicion of arson, but later released.

Andrew Lee, a member of the club for more than 30 years, said: "It's heartbreak for all the club members. Everything has gone.

"[But] we'll bounce back as long as we can keep our members together, we will survive as a club."
