Police in Cumbria seize cannabis worth £1m
Police in Cumbria have seized cannabis plants and resin with a street value of more than £1m in a two-month crackdown on drugs in the county.
The seizures, part of Operation Kibosh, also saw 36 properties searched during February and March.
Cannabis plants with a street value of £800,000 from five dismantled farms and 38kg of cannabis resin were recovered.
A total of 29 people were arrested. Five have been charged while the rest were bailed pending further inquiries.
Cumbria Police said the operation had been successful in disrupting organised crime in the west of the county.
