Azad Miah accused of running brothel in Carlisle

A former Carlisle takeaway owner, charged with inciting six girls aged between 12 and 16 to work as prostitutes, has appeared in court.

Azad Miah, 44, is the former owner of The Spice of India takeaway in Botchergate, Carlisle.

Mr Miah denies eight counts of paying for the sexual services of a child, eight of inciting child prostitution and one count of keeping a brothel.

He denies all the charges. The case continues at Carlisle Crown Court.
