Warning after Carlisle cash machine tampering

People in Carlisle have been warned to be on their guard after four cash machines were found to have been tampered with in the course of a week.

The machines affected were at Morrisons, NatWest in The Lanes, the Co-op in Wigton Road, and Cumberland Building Society in Kingstown.

They had been fitted with either "card trappers", which capture the cards, or skimming devices, which record details.

Cumbria Police is investigating whether the incidents are linked.
