Lottery cash to train Cumbria youngsters

A lottery grant will be used to help conserve an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) in Cumbria.

The North Pennines AONB Partnership has been awarded £56,000 by the Heritage Lottery Fund to help extend its skills project.

The money will pay for the training of four people in dry stone walling with another being offered a traineeship in conservation and land management.

The traineeships are converted into official qualifications once complete.
