Neil Bentham admits teenager crash death near Sedbergh

A man from Cumbria has admitted causing a teenager's death by careless driving while over the alcohol limit.

Neil Bentham, 21, of Outrake Foot, Sedbergh, was driving a Nissan Navara that crashed on the A684, near Sedbergh, in May 2011.

Passenger Jack Ellison, 19, from Dent, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bentham was almost twice over the legal alcohol limit when he crashed. He was bailed and will be sentenced on 23 August at Carlisle Crown Court.
