Paul Fursey dies in collision on A66 near Cockermouth

The family of a motorcyclist who died after a collision with a car in Cumbria on Tuesday said he "loved life".

Emergency services were called to the incident on the A66 at the Great Broughton junction, near Cockermouth on Tuesday night.

Paul Fursey, 31, from Bolton-low-Houses, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cumbria Police has appealed for witnesses to the crash, at 23:23 BST, to contact the force.

The car driver, a 23-year-old man, was taken to hospital suffering from leg injuries.

Mr Fursey was riding a Yamaha motorcycle.

His family said: "It is with great sadness that Paul has so tragically been taken from us.

"Paul who loved both home and work life will be sorely missed by his partner Kath, his mother and two brothers."
