A woman has pleaded not guilty to causing the death of a 71-year-old grandmother in Cumbria by driving without due care and attention.

Marjorie Borwick, from Workington, was hit by a car on the A595 near St John's Church, in Bigrigg, on 4 December 2011.

She was on her way to a grandchild's christening.

Rychenda Edgar, 22, of Dryden Way, Egremont, denied the charge when she appeared at Carlisle Crown Court.

She was bailed to appear at the same court on 15 January.
