Man dies after being hit by car at Penrith Hospital

A man has died after he was hit by a car in a hospital car park in Cumbria.

Police said the man, who has not been identified, was struck by a Suzuki Swift driven by a woman at Penrith Hospital.

Officers were called at 11:24 GMT, a police spokeswoman said.

She added: "The man, who is described as being elderly and believed to be from the Penrith area, sadly died at the scene."
