A Carlisle drug dealer has been jailed for eight years.

Lee Chapman Eilbeck was stopped by police on 31 October, and cocaine was found in his car.

Almost a kilo of the drug, 8.9 kilos of cannabis resin and almost a kilo of bush cannabis, with an estimated street value of £103,000 were then found at a number of properties in the city.

The 36-year-old, of John Robert Gardens, had admitted three counts of possession with intent to supply.

A hearing under the Proceeds of Crime Act is due to take place in June.

Following the sentencing, Det Insp Mike Brown from Cumbria Police said the prosecution highlighted "how serious drug supply is and lets the small number of individuals living in our communities who make vast quantities of money from illegal drug supply know that we are watching them".

"When they are caught, they will face a significant time in prison," he added.
