Four arrests after firearm report

Four people have been arrested after reports of a man with a gun in a Cumbria street.

Armed police officers were called to Barrow Island, Barrow-in-Furness, on Monday evening.

A 23-year-old woman and three men aged 40, 45 and 54 were later arrested and detained at Barrow Police Station.

Two firearms, a knife and a small quantity of controlled drugs were recovered, said Cumbria Police. Officers are appealing for witnesses.
