Trains stopped by van on tracks at Aspatria

Rail services were disrupted after a van rolled onto tracks in Cumbria, police said.

The line was blocked at Aspatria, affecting Northern Rail passengers travelling between Carlisle and Whitehaven.

Cumbria Police said no one had been injured and roads were unaffected.

Network Rail organised recovery of the vehicle and replacement bus services were arranged before the line reopened at about 14:00 BST.
