Millom house death: Two men charged

Two men have been charged in connection with the death of a man at a house in Cumbria.

Michael Hewson, 26, from Millom, was found dead at a property on School Terrace at 08:50 BST on Friday.

Cumbria Police said his death was being treated as unexplained and a post mortem examination would take place to establish the cause.

Two men, aged 25 and 52, have been charged with offences including threats to kill and witness intimidation.

John Fretter, 25, from Newton Terrace, Millom, has been charged with two offences of threats to kill, criminal damage, witness intimidation and harassment. He will appear at Preston Crown Court on 1 August.

Ian Fullard, 52, from Lord Street, Millom, has been charged with assault by beating and perverting the course of justice. He will appear before Barrow Magistrates on 23 May.

Cumbria Police said given the circumstances of the incident, the Independent Police Complaints Commission had been informed.
