Walsall man dies after falling 22ft from Cumbria pylon

A 49-year-old man has died after falling from a pylon in Cumbria.

The man, from Walsall, was carrying out maintenance work on a pylon on Orton Road, Great Orton on Saturday, when he fell about 22ft (7m).

The victim, who worked for Bilfinger Industrial Services, died at the scene. Police said his death was not being treated as suspicious.

The Health and Safety Executive said an investigation had been launched.
