A 94-year-old man has completed his first ever parachute jump - a year after he became the Open University's oldest graduate.

Cliff Dadson, from Grange-over-Sands in Cumbria, took part in the sponsored 13,500ft (4,100m) tandem skydive to raise cash for charity.

Last September he graduated from the Open University with a BA Open Degree in Arts.

In doing the jump Mr Dadson raised money for charity Action for Children.

He said: "I was a little nervous going up in the plane and I did actually question what was I doing.

"But as soon as we stepped out of the plane it was an incredible experience to see where I live so high up."
