Carlisle sneezing attacks: Man, 49, in assault arrest

A man has been arrested in connection with a series of attacks on people who had just sneezed in the street.

Between 19 February and 24 March there were seven reports of elderly people being struck by a passing man in Carlisle, Cumbria.

Police described the attacks as "highly unusual" and said although no-one was injured, victims were left "confused and upset".

A 49-year old from the city is being questioned on suspicion of assault.
