Fourteen people on a ferry in Cumbria had to be rescued after its anchor rope got caught in the propeller.

Endeavour was carrying 12 passengers, two crew and a dog, when it became stranded between Roa and Piel Islands at about 13:00 BST on Sunday.

Volunteer lifeboat crews from Barrow RNLI rescued the passengers and took them to safety on nearby Piel Island.

Lifeboat operations manager, John Falvey, said the spring tide was "very strong and running at a fast speed".
