Braithwaite man dies in hospital following A66 crash

An 82-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle crash in Cumbria.

A blue VW Bora and a silver Toyota Avensis crashed at about 16:40 BST on Friday on the A66 near to Braithwaite, Keswick.

David Bennell, 82, from Braithwaite, suffered serious injuries and was flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. He died on Sunday.

A 24-year-old man, who was driving the Bora, was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries.
