Family pay tribute to 'loved gentleman' killed in A66 crash

The family of an 82-year-old man who died following a two-vehicle collision in Cumbria have paid tribute to him.

David Bennell from Braithwaite, was injured in a crash on the A66 near to Braithwaite, Keswick, at about 16:40 BST on 29 April.

He was flown to hospital but died the following day.

In a statement, Mr Bennell's family said he was a "well-respected and loved gentleman" of his community who would be "dearly missed".

A 24-year-old man, who was driving the second car, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
