Shap A6 death: Woman killed in digger collision named

A woman who died in a collision with a trailer carrying a mini digger has been identified by police.

Rebecca Quail, known as Becca, aged 25, from Penrith, was driving a Citroen car when it collided with the trailer on the A6 south of Shap at about 08:30 GMT on Wednesday.

Cumbria Police said she died at the scene and no-one else was injured.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses.

Police said Ms Quail was driving south while the Mercedes Sprinter van towing the trailer was heading north.
