Workington rapist Allan Bell jailed for 22 years
A man who raped a woman and a girl, and then threatened to kill the child to ensure her silence, has been jailed for 22 years.
Allan Bell, 37, of Garnet Crescent, Workington, carried out a catalogue of crimes which ruined his victims' lives, Carlisle Crown Court heard.
Judge James Adkin described him as a "highly violent sexually and physically aggressive offender".
He denied the charges but was convicted in October.
Bell was convicted of rape, assault of a girl under 13 by penetration, inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity and making a threat to kill.
The woman described the attacks as having a "shattering impact" on her, while the child was left with "rock-bottom self-esteem".
Bell threatened to kill the girl while brandishing a knife, the court heard.
He must sign the sex offenders register for life and abide by the terms of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
