A road was closed off in Derby after bricks fell from a building onto the pavement.

Police cordoned off Curzon Street after a passerby spotted the problem at about 2140 BST on Tuesday.

Fire crews were sent to the property to remove loose bricks. Engineers from the city council also attended the incident.

The immediate area around the building remained sealed off on Wednesday morning.

A police spokeswoman said the premises would be assessed by a building inspector later on Wednesday.
