Police seize drink during patrols in Heanor

Police have warned underage drinking will not be tolerated after seizing more than 300 bottles or cans of drink in Derbyshire.

The alcohol was taken from young people in Heanor, Loscoe and Langley Mill over the last four months.

PCSO Neil Wilson said patrols were taking place early in the evenings to confiscate alcohol before the culprits could drink too much.

He said the move was aimed at reducing anti-social behaviour in the areas.

PCSO Wilson said offenders could face a £500 fine.
