Man admits involvement in 1985 Cromford bank raid

A man has pleaded guilty to his involvement in an armed robbery at a Derbyshire bank 25 years ago.

Alan Murray, 59, of Pilmoor, near York, admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent, robbery and possessing an imitation gun.

He was bailed to reappear for sentencing at Derby Crown Court on 26 November.

Three men raided the former Lloyds Bank in Cromford in 1985. A security guard was hit in the face with a shotgun.

The guard was treated in hospital for facial injuries.
