Warning over defrosting vehicles in Derby

A warning has been issued to drivers in Derby after a car which was left to defrost was stolen and was later involved in an accident.

The Toyota Carina was taken on Wednesday evening after the owner left the keys in the ignition and went back inside his home in Olivier Street.

It later failed to stop after a collision on Grange Street and was then found in Cottonbrook Road.

Police said opportunist thieves would look out for cars left running.
