Two arrests after fatal crash in Chaddesden

Two men have been arrested after a man was fatally hit by a car in Derby.

The 39-year-old died in hospital after he was hit by a green Citroen Saxo in Hampshire Road, Chaddesden, at about 2142 GMT on Saturday.

The car was later found abandoned further down Hampshire Road, near Sir Frank Whittle Way.

Two men aged 20 have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a collision and criminal damage.

Both have been bailed pending further inquiries.

The pedestrian died of his injuries at the Royal Derby Hospital.
