Police investigating the disappearance of a Derby woman have been searching the River Derwent.

Sharon Beckerson, 49, has not been seen since she left her home in Alvaston on the morning of 7 January.

Police divers searched a stretch of the river at Derby on Friday morning - four weeks after Mrs Beckerson's disappearance.

Officers said her disappearance was out of character and they were concerned for her safety.

Mrs Beckerson is described as white, 5ft 7ins tall, of medium build with dark blonde, shoulder-length hair.

It is thought she may have left the house wearing a black jacket with embroidery on the front, a maroon scarf and brown, knee high boots.
