Man robs Derbyshire pharmacy with 'handgun'

A man escaped with cash and prescription drugs after robbing a Derbyshire pharmacy with what is believed to have been a gun.

The robber, wearing sunglasses and a flat cap, threatened staff with the "long-barrelled handgun" in Hayfield Pharmacy on Market Street, Hayfield.

No-one was hurt during the robbery, which happened at 1500 GMT on Thursday.

Police said they believed the crime could be linked to two others in the Manchester area.

The man, who is thought to be in his 40s, walked away from the pharmacy and no vehicle was seen.

Anyone with information should contact the Derbyshire force.
