Derbyshire police online domestic abuse forum offer

Victims of domestic violence in Derbyshire are being offered a chance to report problems via the internet.

The police have organised their first online advice session for people to flag up incidents or get support.

It is aimed at both victims themselves and those who are worried loved ones may be involved.

Officers said they hoped the ease of access and confidential nature of the "virtual surgery" would encourage people to take part.

The surgery will be held on 9 March.

Det Insp Mark Knibbs, from the force Domestic Abuse Unit, said: "People can talk to us in confidence for advice and support around any domestic abuse issues.

"Sometimes people can find it difficult to talk face-to-face about their concerns so we hope this virtual surgery will give them another way of getting in touch."
