A front-seat passenger has been killed in a car crash in Derbyshire.

Police were called to the A50 between Hilton and Hatton just after 2120 BST on Thursday.

A black Skoda Fabia was found in a ditch and a 30-year-old man from Derby was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, a 52-year-old woman, was cut free and taken to hospital with hand and facial injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

They believe the car left the road between 2040 BST and 2130 BST.
