Shoppers in Derby city centre warned of pick-pockets

Police in Derby city centre are reminding people to keep their belongings safe after a number of incidents of pick-pocketing.

Thieves have targeted shoppers in the bus station and Westfield Centre.

Police said a woman had a phone stolen from her handbag as she was getting on a bus. A 44-year-old man has since been charged with theft.

A 27-year-old man has also been charged with theft after a woman had her purse stolen in the shopping centre.

Both men are due to appear before magistrates in Derby on 8 April.
