Arrests after death of Leicester dog walker

Two men have been arrested after the death of a dog walker following an argument in Leicester.

Police were called to an address in Fosse Road North on Sunday afternoon after a man reported a verbal confrontation on nearby open ground.

The man was taken ill and died at the house. Two men from Leicester, aged 41 and 42, were arrested in connection with the incident.

Officers said they were trying to establish the full sequence of events.

Det Insp Widdowson said: "We'd like to hear from anyone who saw a group of people arguing either on Fosse Road North or the nearby open ground known as The Rally before 1.30pm on Mothering Sunday.

"The victim and his wife were walking their dog and called the police to report having an argument with another man. Sadly, an hour later the gentleman died."
