Murder probe into death of man at house in Ripley

The death of a man at a house in Derbyshire is being treated as murder, police have said.

Officers found the seriously-injured man, who was in his 40s, when they responded to reports of an assault in Butterley Hill, Ripley, at 2200 BST on Sunday.

Paramedics treated him at the scene, but he died at Kingsmill Hospital in Nottinghamshire.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested and is being questioned by detectives.

A post-mortem examination to establish how the victim died is due to be carried out on Monday.

The Derbyshire force has appealed for anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
