Ripley man charged by murder police after attack

Police investigating the death of a man found injured in Ripley have charged a man with his murder.

Officers found the seriously-injured man, aged 40, when they were called to Butterley Hill, Ripley, at 2200 BST on Sunday.

The name of the man who died has not yet been released by police.

A 38-year-old man from Ripley is in police custody and is due to appear before Derby and South Derbyshire magistrates on Wednesday.

Paramedics treated the victim at the scene, but he died at Kingsmill Hospital in Nottinghamshire.
